VIDEOR – A success story

1975 VIDEOR E. Hartig GmbH is founded on the 1st April by Ernst Hartig as Videor Technical E. Hartig KG. One year later he receives support and backing from Hans Peter Jamin. Over the years, the management duo give the crucial impulse and stimuli for the dynamic expansion of the company. In this way, VIDEOR soon makes a name for itself as the exclusive agent for high-end Japanese manufacturers (Fujifilm, Fujinon). Both mainstays are subsequently continually consolidated and strengthened, and the product range is further expanded.

1978 Relocation to the new company buildings in Rödermark. In expert circles, VIDEOR has meanwhile achieved a considerable profile, coming to stand for high-quality video technology. The market booms, and this is shown by the annual turnover achieved: In the trading year 1982, the company’s 20 employees generate a turnover of 19.1 million DM.

1988 Opening of the English branch and inauguration of the new distribution centre. A sophisticated storage system and 24-hr service provides reliable deliveries. With 47 employees, VIDEOR has meanwhile established itself as a specialist in video technology in the areas of broadcast and CCTV (Closed Circuit Television). In addition to backing and supporting development, customer service grows increasingly important. “Our employees are our most important capital, and they consistently put the client at the centre of their attention!” reinforces Managing Director Rainer Bernhardt.

1994 The company obtains certification of quality standards according to ISO 9002 and, in the area of CCTV, offers everything which helps protect banks, industrial facilities and retail chains from unwanted guests: cameras, monitors, recorders, lenses and operator units are just a selection from the wider product portfolio. In the area of broadcasting, VIDEOR aims itself at private and public-sector television broadcasters, video production firms, distributors and computer retailers. The range includes studio monitors and signal-processing products as well as being the chief agency for Fujinon lenses and professional video tape for Fujifilm in Germany.

2000 Market leadership through service and innovation - this motto leads to success: in its anniversary year VIDEOR now ranks, with its 134 employees, as being among the largest providers in Europe and reaches and surpasses the 100 Million DM turnover boundary. "Our innovation potential is based on to a close partnership with key suppliers and our team of employees that incorporates the requirements of the market into its customized solutions.", says Managing Director Michael Haas explaining the company’s high status in B2B distribution. Two years later, VIDEOR obtains the EN ISO 9001:2000 certification and, with an annual turnover of 55 Million Euros, manages to ensure a growing market share despite falling CCTV prices.

2003 The newly created ComCentre stands for the expansion of the added-value distributor through contemporary products, training and services: competent instructors regularly introduce the latest developments in camera technology and digital recording and transmitting technology. At certification training sessions, customers additionally receive information on the functioning of networks and various possible applications. The now newly founded Imaging business sector and its products for industrial image processing promise further growth.

2008 In the 2007 financial year, 150 employees achieve a yearly turnover of 65 million Euros and underscore the strong market position. VIDEOR simultaneously sets new standards with the introduction of its Tech Centre. Managing Director Jürgen Hagenlocher: "The modern work stations and the flexible manner in which the building can be used are an important signal for customer and supplier relationships. Together with qualified personnel, a newly designed website and a fresh Corporate Design, VIDEOR has thus positioned itself excellently for the future."
